The title of this post comes from the incredible book of the same name by Andy Grove, the founding employee and long-time CEO of Intel.
Managers are responsible for delivering output. The output of a manager is the output of the organisational units under their supervision. The work of a business unit is pursued not by individuals but by teams. A team will perform well only if peak performance is elicited from the individuals that comprise it.
Over the coming posts, I’ll be writing about what I’ve learnt about how to generate high output as a manager.
